Lately the word "process" has been showing up in my vocabulary. I has been told to me that the process is more important than the product. This thought can be used in almost any setting in life. I heard it first at teacher workshops. Then I began to see it in books I read. I must say that I agree. As we live and strive toward whatever destination we have in mind, the true treasure lies in the steps we take to get there.
However believing something and living it out can be a trying task. Upon self reflection I have to admit that I generally to not enjoy "the process". I want to have what I am working for with out all the struggle. I see the destination and I want to be there. I think to myself, "If I know what I want, why jump through the hoops? Surely I can figure out a way around it all." One might ask, "How's that worked out for ya?" And I would have to reply, "It hasn't."
Earlier this spring I decided to dedicate my summer to the process of building a reflexology business here in Amarillo. I started this summer with visiting health businesses in the area and handing out cards and coupons. As a result, there have been quite a few people who have set up appointments with me. A few places have agreed to let me set up for a day and give quick 5 minute sessions.( location and time- TBA) As of right now I am working on a presentation that will educate people about reflexology and spread the word about Sole Balance.
And for the first time in a long time, I am actually enjoying "the process".
